What is Hysteria2
Hysteria2 is a modern proxy protocol built on QUIC. Unlike TCP-based protocols (VLESS, VMess), it works over UDP with built-in encryption and obfuscation.
Why it matters
- High speed on unstable networks — QUIC handles packet loss better
- Obfuscation — traffic doesn't look like VPN
- DPI resilience — modern filtering systems struggle to detect QUIC traffic
When to choose Hysteria2
- You're on mobile internet or a lossy network
- Your ISP aggressively filters traffic
- You need maximum speed on an unstable channel
